The pleasant Hotel Moderno Madrid, located just off Puerta del Sol, offers one of the most central locations in the city of Madrid. The Puerta del Sol is also known as ‘zero kilometre’ and is, in theory, the starting point for all roads in Spain. It is the place where people meet up, where they see in the New Year and from where they go to shop, eat and even carry out business. The hotel is within 2 minutes' walk of the Plaza Mayor and the Opera House and Royal Palace are just a little further away (on foot). easy walking distance of the historic Madrid of the Austrias (Royal
Palace), Plaza Mayor, Teatro Real and only slightly further (15-20
minutes walk) from the main museums.
All of Madrid's main art galleries (The
Prado Museum, The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and The Réina Sofia) are minutes away on foot or by metro. The hotel does not have its own garage, but there are 3 public parking
lots nearby; please ask for information at the reception when you
arrive.
