Wine Tasting Classes

Your host for these exclusive wine tasting evenings is Mary, who belongs to the Union Española de Catadores (Spanish Association of Wine tasters) and is a member of the American Society of Wine Educators. She is a holder of the prestigious Master of Wine programme and has worked in Spain for the past five years - selling wine and organising tastings.

Our wine tasting evenings are planned to be a fun, informative and interactive introduction to the amazing wines of Spain.  We provide each person with a handout about Spanish wines and a list of the wines to be tasted.  The multi-media presentation presents an overview of the Spanish wine world and is a more interesting way of presenting the information, with lots of pictures of the wine regions included.

For the wines we propose to serve six wines from around Spain. Usuallywe provide two white and four reds, but clients can request anycombination. The wines are high quality wines that provide a good introduction to the excellent value-quality relationship here in Spain. Examples of  "joven" through "reserva" level wines will be served, we also like to show the whole range of quality in Spanish wines, from inexpensive wines (less than 10 euros) to some ultra-premium wines (30 euros).

The idea is to cover the whole Spanish wine scene through the wines presented.  Usually the more traditional areas, such as Rioja and Ribera will be included but also a sampling of the many rising stars, such as Priorat, Somontano, Bierzo, Jumilla, La Mancha, and the very trendy wine category of Vinos de la Tierra. 

Any requests for particular types of wines or a different number of wines by the clients or yourselves can be accommodated without any problem, even in a time frame much closer to the event.

The tapas reception includes five or six typical Spanish tapas as well as small snack food such as peanuts, crisps.

Option 1 - Wine Class

This a 2-hour wine class, which is broken down as follows:

• 30 minute multi-media presentation on the Spanish wine scene
• 1hr 30 minute tasting of six wines from around Spain

Price for 2-hr class, which includes all class materials and student handouts :

• 250 € for 1-10 people
• 350 € for 11-20 people

Wine price (for six wines): 

• 100 € for 1-10 people (one bottle of each wine)
• 200 € for 11-20 people (two bottles of each wine)

Group Total (1-10 people):    350 € *
Group Total (11-20 people):  550 €*

Option 2 - Wine Class & Tapas Reception
This is a 2 hour wine class with 1 hour tapas reception to follow. It includes:

• 30 minute multi-media presentation on the Spanish wine scene
• 1hour 30 minute tasting of six wines from around Spain
• 1 hour tapas reception in wine lounge    

Price for 3-hr class (includes all class materials, student handouts, and tapas):

• 350 € for 1-10 people
• 500 € for 11-20 people                                      

Wine price (for six wines):

• 100 € for 1-10 people (one bottle of each wine)
• 200 € for 11-20 people (two bottles of each wine)

Group Total (11-20 people):    700 €*
